New chapter 👀
Two big pieces of news today...!
🎉 Audiobook is finally available!
The audiobook is now available for purchase as well as your local library via Overdrive!
Amazon/Audible | Overdrive | Apple Books | and wherever else you buy audiobooks
There's also a hardcover edition available now, too.
All told, that means it was 401 days from the first words I wrote on this newsletter to the final item publishing... whew! I never would have gotten this far without the worldwide support that poured out from this newsletter, and am so grateful for all of the friends I've made along the way.
Note if you purchased the audiobook pre-order: I'm going to be sending out the final files in a few days. Since I don't seem to have control over prices, I'm going to keep the podcast available for those of you who prefer that format as an added bonus.
📝 New chapter: workshops!
And now that all of the publishing is finally done, it's time for a new chapter: workshops and talks!
I'm so excited to be bringing Deploy Empathy on the literal road and already have several talks and workshops scheduled.
It would be wonderful to meet you in person at one of them!
📅 Deploy Empathy Masterclass: June 14
I'm so excited to be giving the first Deploy Empathy Masterclass on June 14 at GOTO Aarhus.
GOTO is the enterprise software development conference designed for team leads, architects, and project management and is organized for developers, by developers.
This is an all-day workshop (9am-4pm) and I'm excited to dive deep to help each participant understand their customers—buyers, end users, and internal stakeholders. We'll practice multiple kinds of interviews and you'll walk out with an action plan and a signed copy of Deploy Empathy.
Registration is now open! Workshop tickets are 5450 DKK (~$800 USD) in addition to the conference ticket.

📹 Online Talks
Can't make it but still want to come to a talk? Good news! I'll be giving a free talk/Q&A with ProductMakers on user interview troubleshooting on May 12 at 8am Pacific / 11 am Eastern / 15:00 UTC.

🙋 A few questions for those of you who have been to workshops before...
Since this will be my first time giving extended workshops, I'm doing research on the user experience of them (as you might expect 😂 ), and so I have a few questions for those of you who have gone to a workshop. Just hit reply if you're willing to share!
1) What was the most useful workshop you ever went to?
2) What made it useful?
3) If you've been to a workshop that wasn't so great... what wasn't great about it?
4) If you went to a Deploy Empathy workshop, what's something you'd hope to get out of it—whether that's something tangible or a feeling?
